Bartec has introduced the new Sp9 Ex1 Smartphone and Sc9ex1 Smartscanner which can be used in hazardous areas. Compact and lightweight, these devices have set a new standard for connectivity and digitalization in dangerous zones by the firm.

The new Bartec Sp9 Ex1 Smartphone and Bartec Sc9ex1 Smartscanner are compact, lightweight and high-performing devices with the trusted quality of Bartec, bringing safety to EX1 (Zone 1/21 and Division 1/Class 1) hazardous areas, shares the company. Built on the Qualcomm QCM6490 System-on-Chip (SOC) from Qualcomm Technologies, the SOC brings astonishing performance at low power, with intelligent computing and on-device AI capabilities, fast 5G public and private network connectivity, and enterprise grade Wi-Fi 6 support for all day use.

According to the firm, the Smartphone is the world's most compact 5G device in its class, with a 48 megapixel main camera for imaging and an 8 megapixel front camera for video calls, two configurable keys, dual loudspeakers for clear audio and a full range of accessories from charging stations to carrying solutions.

The Smartscanner adds unparalleled performance, scanning efficiency and accuracy through the seamless integration with the Zebra SE55 Advance Range Scan Engine, adds the company. The Bartec Sc9ex1 integrated Zebra scan engine is configurable through the onboard settings application and through push configurations for fleet deployments.

Both devices deliver all-day productivity and ergonomic design for one hand use, whilst retaining a large 6.11-inch crystal clear Amoled display and user changeable battery.

With these two devices Bartec empowers customers to reap the benefits of connectivity and digitalization – improving efficiency and productivity while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, mentions the firm.

The Smartphone and Smartscanner are designed to meet the toughest requirements and expectations of both users and IT decision makers. With more than 1000 dedicated components ensuring EX protection, the devices deliver a safe, powerful and yet a lightweight experience. Both devices are launched with Android 13 and receive regular software updates. This ensures continuous performance, security and a long lifecycle, as well as compatibility with Enterprise Mobility Management solutions and Android Zero-Touch enrolment. Both devices will be commercially available across markets in Europe, North America, Latam, Brazil, Asia-Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa, starting in the second quarter of 2024.
