There is an increasing demand for natural native dried products in the food and pharmaceutical industries, whereby the original characteristics (such as aroma and flavour) are preserved without the use of additives. Whether processing a plant extract, fruit concentrate or protein, it is important for the supplier of the dryer plant to understand the products and specific processes to help customers achieve their goals and to ensure consistent and economical production.
Native Drying of Liquid Products
To meet this demand, SPX has developed a new process for native drying of high-end liquid products without the use of additives such as maltodextrin or gum, which are necessary in most other dryers (including spray dryers).
The process uses a special dosing system combined with a high vacuum to produce high quality dried products with rich aromas and flavours. There is no oxidation and resulting amorphous structures make the end products easy to dissolve.
Vacuum Tunnel is Haert of Drying Plant
The heart of this drying plant is a vacuum tunnel with belts. Belt drying is among the most economical and gentle drying methods, combining high product quality with good operational efficiency. The unit continuously doses liquid or solid products onto the belts and provides a continuous discharge of dried products in clean room conditions (GMP).
