Solids Dortmund Fiber Feeder for Recycled Materials
Brabender Technologie is intentionally focusing on a feeder specially designed to tackle recycling tasks at the Solids trade fair in Dortmund, Germany which will be held from April 1–2, 2020.
Brabender Technologie has a reliable solution for feeding problems involving recycled materials: the FX50. This fiber feeder was specially developed for feeding recycled materials like carbon and natural fibers, recycled PP, PET and bottle flakes, shredded plastic or carpet residues and other fiber products like cellulose, acrylic, aramid, PPS, polyamide, polymer or polyester fibers. Long, unevenly cut and non-flow-capable fibers can be fed reliably with the aid of a special fiber screw, hopper design with large inflow cross-section, large, steep-walled hopper and special agitator geometry and positioning.
According to the company, potential applications of the new feeder include mixing in strengtheners during the compounding process as well as biopolymers, recycling plastics in building materials or in the production of films/foils, where offcuts or waste from the startup process are recovered.
Brabender Technologie (Booth D06-4) will also showcase other equipment at the fair such as the DSR28 and DDSR20 twin screw feeders, a DSR28 agitator feeder in combination with a Flex Wall 40 functioning as a filling unit, and a Flex Wall 40 in a plexiglass finish.
