Repurposing of the former Solarworld/Bosch site: Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia GmbH commissions EPC Engineering & Technologies GmbH
The Chinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia GmbH is building its first European production site for lithium-ion batteries at the Erfurter Kreuz industrial site, which includes the former Solarworld / Bosch properties in Arnstadt. For the replanning (Project G1), the company has commissioned EPC Engineering & Technologies GmbH as general planner for the service phases according to HOAI 1-8.
"We are excited about the cooperation with CATL," explains Ulf Henkel, Managing Director of EPC Engineering & Technologies GmbH. "On the one hand, because this project is being developed virtually on the doorstep of our headquarter in Arnstadt. On the other hand, CATL is an exciting company and a strong, fast-growing partner that will contribute significantly to the expansion of e-mobility in Germany and Europe".
Contemporary Amperex Technology Co, Limited (CATL), the parent company of Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia GmbH, is a market leader in the development and manufacture of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. The business units comprise research and development, production and sales of battery systems for electric mobility and energy storage systems. CATL is headquartered in Ningde, China, and employs about 25,000 professionals worldwide.
