With the SIL version of the Tigron actuator, Auma presents an explosion-proof electric actuator for the highest safety requirements up to SIL 3. Up to four different safety functions allow the actuator to be flexibly configured for a wide range of requirements.

Up to four different safety functions can be configured within the same device, with the priority of the safety functions being freely definable. Additional parameters such as the type of shutdown, shutdown torque, and overload protection of the safety functions can also be customized. Thanks to a pulsing function, the Tigron SIL can decelerate its movement shortly before reaching the end position of the valve, effectively preventing pressure surges in the pipeline, explain the developers.

The Tigron in SIL version thus offers solutions for very complex requirements in safety-related systems. The certification includes the safety functions Safe ESD OPEN and Safe ESD CLOSED, each with and without the pulsing function, Safe Stop, and Safe End Position Feedback OPEN and CLOSED. The safety functions are controlled and monitored via a safety-oriented firmware. The safety-relevant part of the Tigron in SIL version has been developed and assessed in accordance with IEC 61508:2010 (SIL) and ISO 13849 (PL) and certified by TÜV Nord. SIL 3 can be achieved in a redundant system design.

In addition to the extensive safety-relevant new features of the product variant, users, of course, should benefit from all the fundamental advantages of the successful Tigron series: With its high explosion protection IIC, the Tigron is hydrogen-capable. The compact and powerful all-round actuator is reliable and durable, standing up to the toughest operating conditions. It can be easily and flexibly integrated into all common control systems and offers modern interfaces, for example, for Profinet. A seamless data exchange with Coralink, Auma's digital ecosystem, simplifies predictive maintenance.
