Filter Housings Ease of Service for Bag and Cartridge Filters
Wolftechnik offers WTBKF combined filter housings for bag filters and cartridge filters. A high-grade steel casting base ensures that all housing types are constructed in a compact and space-saving manner.
A parts cleaning unit, for instance, clearly shows how innovative, variable products ensure ease of service at the filter change stage as well as save costs. Due to their favourable cost-throughput ratio, bag filter housings are often the first choice for concept design and subsequent planning of the unit. However, whether the required criteria of the manufactured parts are met is often only demonstrated when the unit is inspected for acceptance by the end user.
In principle, a filtrate quality upgrade involving various filter media in the bag filter housing is possible. However, it is better to rely on WTBKF combined filter housings from the start, states the firm. Without unit modifications, bag filter and—in the case of raised requirements—standard filter cartridges can be fitted in one and the same housing.
A high-grade steel casting base ensures that all housing types by Wolftechnik are constructed in a compact and space-saving manner. It also clearly raises the service friendliness of the unit, opines the company. If the unit was planned with standard bag filter housings, the filtrate quality and bag filter lifetime can be increased with a number of innovative filter elements, such as the pleated filter bags and the Lupus-II-filter elements. Even the benefits of depth filter cartridges and pleated filter catridges can be used.
As such, by using 1-layer pleated filter bags of the WFB-1AP type, the lifetime is increased in line with the larger filter surface. Along with the lifetime, the retention rates are also improved from the use of 2-layer bag filters with internal pleating of type WFB-2IP.
According to the firm, a further qualitative upgrade in filtrate quality and filter lifetimes comes from using Lupus-II-filter elements. However, under continuous operations, standard cartridge filters would be considerably less expensive to maintain than the Lupus-II special products due to their larger filter surface and longer lifetimes. The experts of Wolftechnik therefore recommend planning with WTBKF-bag-cartridge-filter housings from the very beginning of the unit concept stage.
