Clariant continues to move its speciality chemicals production for the paper industry to Prat. First batches of brightening agents just left the Spanish factory for the European and international mrakets.

Muttenz/Switzerland – Clariant's Spanish production site in Prat, near Barcelona, just started the production of Optical Brightening Agents (OBAs). A first production run came to successful results, the company says, with the first batches being already on their way to customers in Europe or on the global paper market. It marks the first OBA consignment to be produced in Spain as part of a transfer of Clariant’s OBA production from Muttenz, Switzerland. Therefor, Clariant says, the transfer of the OBAs, colorants and chemicals production to Spain by the end of 2011 is well on track.
