Mexico: Speciality Chemicals Clariant Increases Capacity for Latin American Market

Clariant announced the completion of the expansion measures at its industrial facility in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, which have resulted in an increase of production capacity by around 15 %.

Muttenz/Switzerland — The expansion project in Coatzacoalcos took approximately two years, concluding within the planned timeframe, the company said in a statement, adding that the investment in the expansion was made to strengthen the group's ability to serve industrial and consumer markets. Hariolf Kottmann, CEO of Clariant, said that the speciality chemicals producer focuses on the allocation of investments in areas with promising growth potential. She added that one of these important strategic markets in the Americas would be Mexico because of its growth potential and its export strength.

Clariant Mexico is operating production plants, laboratories, and sales offices located in Santa Clara (Mexico State), Puebla, and Coatzacoalcos, which provides solutions to multiple industries. Since its opening in 2002, the Coatzacoalcos plant has continuously been expanded over the last 15 years. It currently occupies an area of 76,000 m2 and has over 100 employees.
