The decision to enter the Indian market was not accidental, as Lukas Zimmermann, Business Development at Azo Holding, reports. India recorded remarkable economic growth in 2023 with a GDP growth rate of 8.2 percent, significantly exceeding initial forecasts. According to Rajesh Nath, Managing Director of VDMA India, the country is experiencing strong growth across all sectors, particularly in the construction sector, which is being driven by extensive government infrastructure projects. The growing middle class, which is expected to encompass around 300 million people by 2027, also offers enormous market potential.

Daniel Auerhammer, the technological & technical managing director responsible for the Azo Group and now also for Vedic Pac Systems, emphasizes that this integration secures the Azo Group’s access to a pool of highly qualified specialists in software development and programming. India is considered a center for IT expertise and innovation. This strategic move allows the Group to expand its development team and benefit from the skills and knowledge of Indian OT specialists. This should accelerate the development of new products and continuously improve existing software solutions.

A decisive factor for the acquisition was also the desire to better meet customer needs. Azo attaches great importance to “glocal”/frugal system applications and the continuous operation of its customers’ plants. A competent local sales and service partner is therefore key to a successful market entry in India.

Jan-Wilko Helms, Managing Director responsible for the sales activities of the Azo Group and now also for Vedic Pac Systems, emphasizes the strategic importance of this acquisition: “With the acquisition of our long-term partner Vedic Pac Systems, the Azo Group is strengthening its initiative in the important South Asian market. Especially in the current geopolitical context, this is a strategically important decision. We are taking over a highly motivated sales team that is already very well positioned in the market.” Helms adds that this acquisition not only means a strengthening of market presence but also an investment in the future. By integrating the experienced Indian team, Azo gains valuable local know-how and can better serve customer needs in the region. The long-standing partnership with Vedic Pac Systems has already created a solid foundation on which further growth in South Asia can now be built.

This acquisition also represents a novelty for Azo in that the company retains the existing structure of Vedic Pac. In addition to its broad positioning in numerous industries, Azo now benefits from Vedic Pac Systems’ special expertise in the confectionery sector – which will be particularly important for activities in the region. For this reason, the company now operates under the name Vedic Pac Systems, a Member of Azo Group.
