China: Natrosol HEC Production Ashland Completes Capacity Expansion for HEC

Ashland recently completed an expansion for Natrosol Hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) Production in Nanjing, China, increasing the company’s manufacturing output at the site by nearly 30 %.

Wilmington/USA — Ashland has HEC manufacturing sites located in China, the Netherlands, and the United States. Key markets for the material include coatings, personal care, oil and gas, construction, and pharmaceuticals. The capacity expansion is to enable the company to support their customers’ growing demand for Natrosol HEC, said Chris Brown, vice president and general manager, Ashland Coatings. Continuing to maximize the current network provided the company with a better return on capital versus building a new plant while also strengthening our cost position, he said.
