Arca supplied four pc valves, installed with the compressor on the “pan Union” tanker. In the meantime the second and third batch of anti-surge valves have been delivered. The tanker will be tested in January to March 2017 and will then be transporting LNG produced in Queensland/ Australia to China.
“Pan Asia” is the first tanker of the Pan Union LNG project and, with a capacity of 174,000 m3, is expected to deliver 1.5 million tons of liquified gas per year. Surging can cause vane fatigue damage in the compressor. Anti-surge valves avoid surging by accurately adjusting the gas circulation or blow-off flow.
