After a six-year hiatus, Achemasia has returned to Shanghai. By far, the largest group of exhibitors, a total of 218 companies, came from China. This reflects the remarkable dynamism and growing influence of the country in the global innovation landscape. At the same time, there was a strong international presence, led by Germany and other European nations, which accounted for 15% of the exhibitors.

During the exhibition, a series of keynotes, congress programs, and specialized forums were held, focusing on current industry topics such as process optimization, green chemistry, pharmaceutical cleaning, energy-saving technologies, and smart production. These events systematically highlighted the latest achievements of the process industry in technological breakthroughs, industrial collaboration, and policy alignment.

At the "Forum on Globalization and High-Quality Development of Process Industry Companies" hosted by PROCESS China, intensive discussions took place. Experts and representatives from engineering firms such as Hengyi (Brunei) Petrochemical, China Chemical-Donghua Engineering Technology, and Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering, as well as manufacturers of industrial equipment and technical service providers like Xi’an Dongfeng Electromechanical, Morimatsu, Guangdong LESSO, Lanshi Branch, and Bureau Veritas Group shared their insights on key issues such as global strategic alignment, application of advanced engineering technologies, compliant operational management, and efficient supply chain collaboration. This forum created a high-quality communication platform for Chinese companies to consistently develop in the global market.

At the same time, the "Conference on Pharmaceutical Cleaning and Energy-saving Technology," hosted by PROCESS China and PharmaTEC China, revolved around the topics of cleaning upgrades, energy savings, and efficiency enhancement. It focused on technical approaches and practical solutions for the pharmaceutical industry facing the dual challenges of compliance and energy savings, attracting professionals from production, facility management, utility engineering, clean HVAC design, and industry regulatory areas of national pharmaceutical companies.

Innovation Award and Expansion

At the fair, the Achemasia Process Innovation Award was officially introduced. This award encompasses six categories: chemical process engineering and equipment, pharmaceutical process engineering and equipment, hydrogen fluid process engineering and equipment, hydrogen energy, green production technology and equipment, digital intelligence and instrumentation, as well as benchmark projects. It fully covers the key technology and equipment areas of the process industry and aims to drive the sustainable development of the industry through innovation. Dr. Björn Mathes, CEO of Dechema, Gerd Kielburger, Head of International Business Strategy at Vogel Communications Group, and Jiang Yabao, Managing Director of Vogel China, presented the awards to the nominated companies.

Additionally, Hu Jing, Editor-in-Chief of PROCESS China, conducted an exclusive interview with Mathes at the fair. They exchanged in-depth views on central topics such as the core information of the 2025 exhibition, future development trends in the process industry, the alignment of forum topics with China's "Dual Carbon" goals, and the prospects for the next exhibition.

During Achemasia 2025, PROCESS China established a diversified activity matrix of forums + training sessions + innovation awards. This matrix not only created a central platform for technical exchange, experience sharing, and collaboration in the process industry but also systematically showcased the latest achievements of the industry in terms of greener, smarter, and more international approaches. The activities led by the process industry provided practical guidance for Chinese companies to expand globally and also provided stimulants for the technological upgrade of the pharmaceutical industry. At the same time, the innovation awards stimulated the vitality of the industry, which is significantly and far-reachingly important for promoting sustainable, high-quality, and innovative development of the entire process industry.
