Tamilnadu has a good chunk of the water and waste water management industry and thus it is no wonder that one of South East Asia’s largest water shows was held in Chennai. The event brought together stakeholders from all sectors of the industry.

The EverythingAboutWater Expo was back at the Chennai Trade Centre for its 10th chapter from 28 February – 2 March 2013. Along with its sister show in Gujarat, the event was once again organized by EA Water Pvt Ltd, to take advantage of Tamilnadu’s growing water industry. Several organizations from the water fraternity lent their support to the event. These included the Indian Membrane Society, Indian Environmental Association, Indian Water Works Association, Tamil Chamber of Commerce, American Academy of Scientists and Engineers, amongst others.

The 291 exhibitors not only included Indian organizations, but witnessed 35 per cent international participation from companies in Japan, Israel, China and Taiwan. The exhibitors represented a wide variety of industry segments such as water treatment, management and conservation, desalination and distillation, filtration equipment, effluent treatment systems, valves, instrumentation and process control, pumps and motors, etc.

Participation The conference and training programs, which were attended by 782 delegates, covered the following topics:

  • latest developments in water and waste water management
  • water reuse and recycling
  • advancements in sea water
  • RO system design
  • Non-revenue water and leakage

One of the event’s main highlights was the product launch zone where companies such as UL India, Austrade, Kent RO and Crompton Greaves, displayed their latest product ranges. There was also a “One-One Meeting” platform, which was used for direct interaction by visitors and exhibitors with pre fixed meetings. This unique idea proved to be a major success with many companies.

With a footfall of over 18,000 visitors registered, the show proved to be a success, with many exhibitors agreeing that it was a great networking opportunity for the water industry in South India as well as South East Asia.
