Polysilicons Wacker Plans To Expand Charleston Site, Insiders Assume

With a US $ 1 million property tax abatement underway, Wacker is about to announce expansion plans for its facility near Charleston, Tennessee, insiders believe.

Cleveland, Tennessee/USA – Wacker Polysilicon is expected to further expand its production site near Charleston, Tennessee (currently under construction), industry experts believe. On monday night, the Bradley County Commission granted the company a one-time US $ 1 million property tax abatement for 2014, dedicated to cover additional infrastructure costs and other additional costs linked to an investment at the site.

Wacker, who have already invested around US $ 1 billion at Charleston, could ultimately raise this sum to US $ 1.8 billion, Gary Farlow, CEO of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce is quoted. The chemical company currently plans to employ a staff of 600 at Charleston, that could pump an estimated $65 million into the community through salaries and wages.
