Czech Republic: Polyethylene Unipetrol’s new Polyethylene Plant to Become Largest Czech Petro–Invest

Prague-based Unipetrol has begun the construction of its new $355 million polyethylene unit. The site is the largest investment of the Czech petrochemical industry.

Prague/Czech Republic – The new 270,000 tons/Year polyethylene production shall go on-stream by mid-2018, Unipetrol told the press. According to a recent report by Chemical Engineering, the new plant would be among the most advanced petrochemical clusters in Europe.

The main engineering contractor for the two years construction phase is Technip. The site’s main production cycles will be based on a licensed Ineos technology.
