Kazakhstan: Petrochemicals UAE and Kazakhstan to Establish Joint Polyethylene Project

Almaty/Kazakhstan — The Governments of Kazakhstan and the UAE have agreed to prepare a joint project for polyethylene production, Iran Energy News quotes the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan. "A memorandum on cooperation between the Unified Chemical Company ltd and Mubadala (UAE) was signed on May 23 2017 in Astana which will prescribe development of the draft project with technical and economic parameters," the news portal continues.

In January 2017, Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, visited the United Arabic Emirates. Since then, the countries have been negotiating an agreement to establish a joint performance of polyethylene production project in Kazakhstan's Atyrau region.
