Courbevoie, France – According to French newspapers, this strategic move shall help to optimise internal workflows within the company. Total expects benefits especially for production plants that often already combine refinery and petrochemical installations, like in French Gonfreville.

Also maintenance and repair works are expected to profit from synergetic effects. Around 10.000 employees are expected to affected by these reorganisations. Up to now, Total has not confirmed these tasks. An official statement from the company is expected for fall 2011.
