Würzburg, Germany – In addition, ThyssenKrupp will participate in the conference with two presentations: Dr. Franz Wolpers of ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik will hold a lecture on skip-conveying in open-cast mines, and Andreas Peters of Uhde Services, also part of the ThyssenKrupp group of companies, will present a paper on mobile high-performance de-dusting during unloading of railcars.

ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik is not the only major player in bulk materials handling to present at the conference. Further big market actors, such as Sandvik Mining & Construction, Tenova Takraf or Aumund, are also taking the chance to share some of their experience and network with end users, consultants, engineers and researchers from all over the world.

The session on Stacking, Blending and Reclaiming is just one example of how BulkSolids Europe combines the knowledge of bulk material handling professionals from industry and academia. The session starts with a lecture by Heru Praptono of the Indonesian coal mining company PT Kaltim Prima Coal on de-bottelnecking the feeding rate of a circular reclaimer, followed by presentations of Dr. Holger Lieberwirth, Tenova Takraf, on blending efficiency of stockyard systems, and Nobert Merkel, ABB Automation, on latest developments in stockyard automation. The session is completed by Yanyan He from CBSPT, The University of Newcastle, Australia, with a lecture on loads on buried support columns and rathole characteristics in stockpiles.

In addition to the various sessions on bulk materials handling, BulkSolids Europe 2012 also features a special Workshop “Explosion Safety in the Heavy Bulk and Power Generating Industry.” The workshop, organised by INDEX forms a third stream on the first day of the conference and contains six in-depth presentations on explosion and fire protection issues ranging from technical aspects like storage of alternative fuels and protection in coal milling processes to compliance and liability issues for executives and management to crisis management and media response.
