Essen/Germany – Thyssen Krupp continues its transformation program: To strengthen the new plant engineering branch (Resource Technologies and Process Technologies) as well as to promote collaboration and use synergetic effects of a common company structure, sales efforts are to be strengthened and the share of high-margin service business to be increased.

As a consequence, Jens Michael Wegmann takes over as CEO and chairman of the Industrial Solutions business area management board, with responsibility for Strategy, Communications, Technology/Innovation/Sustainability, Quality & Processes, and Compliance. “We will now relentlessly drive forward the integration and regionalization of our plant engineering business so as to achieve continued growth in a challenging market environment”, Wegmann explained. “We have the right technologies, services and highly skilled people for this. But we need to use our synergies much more effectively and improve our collaboration across the various regions and businesses.”

Former Industrial Solutions CEO Dr. Hans Christoph Atzpodien will concentrate on the shipbuilding division Thyssen Krupp Marine Systems, the company announced. At the moment, the company is competing for a billion-Euro submarine contract with the Australian navy. Industrial Solution’s CFO Jörg Schönewolf and CHRO Martin Hilbig will continue their work with Thyssen Krupp.
