Great Potential for New Business Opportunities
? The spectrum of products presented in the trade fair is very varied. Nevertheless, there will be areas of special focus?
Hamann: In contrast to events that focus on one individual area, Chemspec Europe’s USP is the broad exhibition portfolio that covers the comprehensive range of fine and speciality chemicals. For our exhibitors, this means that they get access to an audience of a widest possible range of industry sectors. For visitors, the Chemspec Europe show profile offers the possibility to find highly specialised chemicals for a multitude of sectors as well as a wide range of potential suppliers. Furthermore, the diverse product portfolio of the exhibition also bears great potential for innovation and synergies, and thus for new business opportunities.
? The international competition between manufacturers of fine chemicals, especially with Asian competitors, is becoming more fierce. How does Chemspec position itself in the Asian market?
Hamann: We also hold Chemspec events in India to cover the Indian market. This year’s Chemspec India, which was held in April, was, once again, a highly successful exhibition. The market for fine and speciality chemicals in Asia is growing, and it is growing stronger than the basic chemicals sector. But Asian suppliers are also increasingly seeking to enter the European market and this can of course be noticed at Chemspec Europe where a number of Asian companies are regularly exhibiting, in particular companies from India and China.
