Vietnam: Petrochemical Complex and Oil Refinery Thailand Delays Plans for Refinery in Vietnam

Thailand's largest energy company PTT has postponed plans to build a $ 20 billion refinery and petrochemical complex in Vietnam, reports Reuters.

Bangkok/ Thailand – This follows the announcement of Saudi Aramco from the project earlier this month. Both companies originally held an equal stake of 40 % in the project.

The state-owned company PTT has partnered with Saudi Aramco to invest to built a complex with a processing capacity of 400,000 barrel a day.

According to Reuters, Chansin Treechuchagron, PTT's Senior Executive Vice President for petrochemicals and refining, said the company will delay the project and review investment at the end of the year.
