Offshore Engineering Technip Provides Offshore Engineering for Trinidad's Juniper Gas Field

Technip provides engineering services for the development of the Juniper offshore gas field off the South East coast of the Caribbean island Trinidad. The French specialists will work on the construction of topsides, jackets and pipelines for the offshore project.

Port of Spain/Tridad and Tobago – Technip's scope of work consists of design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, load out and mechanical completion of 4,300 short ton topsides that can process 590 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas as well as 6,100 short ton jackets. Also included are flowlines, pipelines and subsea structures. Technip's operating center in Houston, Texas, USA, will perform the overall design, detailed engineering and project management. Offshore installation is scheduled for the second half of 2016.

The platform will be build in Trinidad using a local fabricator. Technip will bring its worldwide fabrication competencies and expertise to this project. The flexible pipes will be manufactured at the company's Flexi France facility in Le Trait, France. Technip’s S-Lay pipelay vessel, the G-1200, will install the rigid pipelines. Additional vessels from the company fleet will install the flexibles as well as umbilicals, and provide construction work support.

Following the FEED support, project planning and detailed engineering work, in which Technip and its subsidiary Genesis have been involved for almost a year, this award validates the Group’s strategy of early involvement to design an effective project execution plan.
