Chemical Industry/Awards Tata Chemicals Wins Sustainability Trophy

Tata Chemicals (TCL) won the prestigious CII – ITC Sustainability Trophy at the CII – ITC annual Sustainability Awards 2011. The awards were announced during a formal presentation ceremony on February 10, 2012, at New Delhi in the presence of dignitaries from government and industry.

New Delhi/India – Tata Chemical's Babrala plant won the ‘CII–ITC Sustainability Trophy’ for exemplary policies, practices and results. DK Sundar, senior vice president of marketing and fertilisers for Tata Chemicals, received the award on behalf of the company. This trophy is being presented for the first time since the launch of the CII–ITC Sustainability Award.

The company's plant at Mithapur was able to win the ‘commendation certificate for significant achievement’ for independent units.
