Industrial Services Successful Projects in Europe Generate High Figures for BIS

Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services announces good figures for 2011: In particular, large turnaround projects in Europe high generated revenues.

Munich/Germany – Industrial service provider Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services (BIS) announces good figures for 2011, especially in Austria and the Czech Republic. More than € 35 million revenues were generated by BIS companies during 2011, the company states. The most profitable projects were with a factory turnaround for Borealis in Schwechat near Vienna and at Unipetrol RPA and Česká Rafinérská, both in Litvínov/Cezch Republic.

Polyolefin Production Overhaul in Austria

In Schwechat BIS employees from several countries worked on the turnaround of a polyolefin production factory, working on more than 70,000 tasks: We have access to extensive resources via the various Group companies. This makes us an attractive partner for our customers as we are able to provide all services under a single roof. “In this way, we can offer our customers high added value by avoiding unnecessary interfaces,” underlined Gerald Pilotto, managing director of BIS Chemserv and executive vice-president of the BIS Group’s Central Europe Division. Schwechat generated a total volume of around € 30 million, , of which the BIS Group was responsible for some EUR 15 million, company officials say.

Turnarounds in the Czech Petrochemical Industry

A further two turnarounds, which together accounted for a volume of some € 20 million, were executed in the Czech Republic: For the fourth time since 1999, BIS Czech handled the turnaround of a Unipetrol RPA in Litvínov. The turnarounds are use to overhaul all mechanical parts of the facility on regular basis, BIS explains. At the same place, BIS Euromont business oversaw a refinery revamp: All the facilities at Česká Rafinérská in Litvínov were overhauled in September and October 2011 during the plant turnaround.
