With around 16,000 visitors, 891 exhibitors, an extensive supporting program and the Partec scientific congress taking place simultaneously, Powtech certainly sees itself as number one in its role as a trade fair for mechanical process engineering.
Nuremberg/Germany – “There were satisfied faces throughout the six exhibition halls and there was also a lot of interest in the extensive supporting program. Exhibitors are reporting that they enjoyed excellent discussions with high-caliber visitors and that the time spent in Nuremberg was very worthwhile” says Beate Fischer, the event manager of Powtech. The figures are also encouraging: 891 exhibitors covered a total area of 27,711 m2 (27,477 m2 in 2014). There were 36 percent international exhibitors (32 percent in 2014). The large number of international participants shows that the trade fair can build its importance internationally as well. Most of the international exhibitors came from Italy, followed by Switzerland, Great Britain and the Netherlands. Thereby, according to Petra Wolf, Director of the in-house events of the Nuremberg trade fair and member of the Management, the presentation changed significantly. The exhibitors wanted to display more in 2016 than previously. That results in increase in the area. But Petra Wolf also had the 16,000 visitors in mind: “The visitors are particularly solution-oriented — even more than the other trade fairs.” Something that is very important for the event organizer. After all, the sheer number of visitors does not determine the success of the trade fair. What’s crucial is that the visitors have a big fat project file in their bags.
Technology Awards: Fireworks of Innovations
On the very first day of the trade fair the Technology Award in three categories was awarded by the specialized press PROCESS, Pharma TEC and Schüttgut. Overall nine enterprises received accolades. Powtech for All
In 2016 Powtech introduced a new hall layout: The trade fair TechnoPharm, which previously ran simultaneously, was integrated in Powtech for the first time. Instead of a separate, small Pharmaceutical fair, the event manager of the Nuremberg fair and the ideal carriers APV and VDI along with Powtech now manages one trade fair for all areas of application of the mechanical processing technology. With this, the trade fair covers all the fields, which use mechanical processes in their production, followed by the food industry and animal fodder industry as well as the fields like chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, ceramic/glass, mining and recycling industries. The next Powtech will open its doors in Nuremberg from 26th to 28th September 2017.
Die Powtech is not only a trade fair in Nuremberg. It is a global network of trade fairs and conferences related to the mechanical processing technology. The following Powtech World Events will also be taking place in 2016:
- Powtech Brazil: Conference and Exhibition for Processing, Analysis, and Handling of Powder and Bulk Solids, 10th to 12th Mai, Sao Paulo
- Powder & Bulk Solids India: International Conference & Exhibition on Storing, Handling and Processing Bulk Solids and Powder, 13th to 15th October, Mumbai
- IPB China: International Powder & Bulk Solids Processing Conference & Exhibition, 19th to 21st October, Shanghai
