Shanghai/China – The team consists of sales and technical managers located in China, Japan and Korea. SGL plans to promote a wider industry usage of carbon fiber and carbon composite products in the region.

“Thanks to their unique properties, high strength and light weight, carbon fibers are in ever greater demand as a replacement for traditional materials,” explained Dr. Jürgen Köhler, Vice President Business Unit Carbon Fibers & Composite Materials.

SGL Group covers the entire carbon fiber value chain – from raw materials (precursors), carbon fibers, fabrics, prepregs and preforms to finished composite components (carbon fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRP)). The portfolio includes high-performance materials based on carbon, glass and aramid fibers for industrial applications in growth industries, e.g. wind energy, sports equipment, automotive and aerospace.
