India: Food Processing Schemes Pertaining to Food Processing Industries in Rajasthan

A meeting was recently held wherein the Secretary, FPI, Avinash K Srivastava met Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan.

New Delhi/India – At this meeting, Commissioner Industries, Additional Director Industries, SPV/promoters of Greentech Mega Food Park Pvt Ltd, representatives of Programme Management Agency (Grant Thornton India LLP) and PMC (IL&FS) were also present. Srivastava briefed the Chief Secretary about the Greentech Mega Food Park that is being set up at Rupangarh, District Ajmer, Rajasthan. He also mentioned about the schemes being implemented by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries including integrated cold chain and SAMPADA. He requested the Government of Rajasthan to provide a special incentive package to the food processing units being set up in the Mega Food Park.

Srivastava also visited the Mega Food Park site located at Rupangarh Village, Ajmer District, Rajasthan and reviewed the progress of the implementation of the project. This project is expected to be operationalised by March, 2017. SPV informed that 12.09 acres of land have already been allotted to four units in the Mega Food Park.
