Amsterdam/The Netherlands — This relationship joins the Saudi firm's proprietary specialty thermoplastic offerings and Nottingham Spirk’s capabilities to design and commercialize products across multiple industrial verticals.

Sabic's thermoplastics portfolio is used in many key industries such as automotive, aircraft and rail interiors, and electrical and electronics. The materials offer unique combinations of thermal, mechanical and electrical properties. Ernesto Occhiello, executive vice president of Sabic’s specialties business unit, said that there was tremendous opportunity for their high-performance materials to be used in end products used in healthcare, consumer goods, energy and electric vehicles. The partnership with the product design company is to provide fresh ideas to Sabic and help them design novel products based on their materials solutions.
