The Woodlands, Texas/USA – CB&I were granted an engineering contract for a refinery revision in Bataan, the Philippines. The Texan engineering, procurement and construction company will provide sulphur recovery, tail gas treating and hydrogen plant technologies for an approximated value of US $ 40 million, speakers say. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2013.

The hydrogen plant will consist of two trains, each of 126 tons per day capacity. The sulphur recovery and tail gas treating units will consist of five sulphur recovery trains, capable of processing a combined capacity of 526 metric tonnes per day of sulphur. Only recently, the company announced the signing of a technology license and engineering contract for a grassroots sulphuric acid alkylation unit in China.
