Peru’s state owned Petroperu wants to modernize its Talara refinery: Contracts concernig the upgrade of the 60,000 barrels/day production plant worth several billion dollar have already been signed.

Lima/Peru – Tecnicas Reunidas of Spain will provide design and engineering for all assets at the crude production train under a US $ 2.7 billion lump-sum turnkey contract. This deal us the lump-sum turnkey contract, stated the company.

Petroperu plans to have the refinery, which is located at Piura, 1,200 km north of Lima, back on stream in 55 months. Upon completion, the refinery shall beable to produce in compliance with minimal emissions standards as well as produce its own electricity for on-site desalination trains.
