Exhibitions Record Attendance at Powder & Bulk Solids India Exhibition & Conference
The Powder & Bulk Solids India 2013 Exhibition and Conference attracted a record number of participants and exhibitors. The next edition of the event will take place from February 18 to 20, 2015 at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
The fourth Powder & Bulk Solids India (PBSI), held from October 9 to 11, 2013 at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India, ended with a grand success. With 71 exhibitors and
2,295 overall participants (2012: 64 / 1,490), India’s leading trade show for powder and bulk material handling and processing broke its previous records for visitors and exhibitors. The organizers – the exhibition company NürnbergMesse India and Vogel Business Media, publisher of “PROCESS India”, – are very pleased that each of the annual events has increased in attendance, thanks to a plausible concept: connecting the leading suppliers with the decision makers in the Indian powder and bulk industries.
The next PBSI will take place from February 18 to 20, 2015 at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
A Comprehensive Range of Technologies
“The event has successfully emerged as India’s only focused show for processing technologies in powder and bulk as well as heavy bulk material handling,” said Sonia Prashar, Managing Director at NürnbergMesse India. “The event has consistently showcased top manufacturers and suppliers from not only one industry but a cluster of industries. This positive trend reflects that the unique cross-sectorial concept of exhibition and conference holds a big potential in India.”
During the three-day show, 71 exhibitors from eight countries displayed a comprehensive range of products on 937 sqm of exhibit space. They showcased latest technologies for mixing, conveying, milling, screening, and granulating for manufacturers of chemicals, food, pharmaceuticals, and plastics as well as to operators of heavy bulk plants in mines and ports. Every third exhibitor was international. Top exhibiting nations after India were Germany, U.K. and Switzerland.
This edition of the event witnesses an impressive line-up of the crème-de-la-crème from the booming Indian powder and bulk industry. Key players like FL Smidth, Hosokawa Micron, Martin Engineering, Phoenix Conveyor Belts, Bectochem, Beumer Technology, Kiron Hydraulic Needs, Merit Technologies, Roechling India, Sanghavi Engineering, K-Tron, Allgaier, Vega India, Schenck Process, and Vedic Pac Systems were a part of this steadily growing trade event.

Close to the Pulse of Industry: Conference 2013
Featuring more than 50 presentations the conference was exactly hitting the mark with the challenges and opportunities in the INR 200 billion (EUR 2.4 billion ) Indian bulk material handling industry.
At the inauguration of the event, PBSI conference chairman Dr. Vijay. K. Agarwal from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi stated, “The development of the infrastructural sector has been and will continue to be a priority for the Indian Government. This, in turn, necessitates the attention on production, storage, and transport of powder and bulk materials. The exchange of knowledge and know-how is a fundamental prerequisite to be able to rise to these challenges – and with its combination of exhibition and conference, PBSI is the perfect platform for this exchange.”
The conference was divided in two main streams – “Processing Technologies in Powder and Bulk” on the one hand, and “Bulk Material Handling (Heavy Bulk)” on the other. The streams included presentations by industry experts like Darpan Sejpal from Röchling India, Sudeep Sar from FLSmidth, and Shailesh Dhume from Bayer Technology Services India and academic experts including Prof.Dr. Mark Jones from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and Dr. David Mills, a world-known conveying consultant from the U.K.
