Powtech 2013 Powtech 2013 completely Geared to Plant and Process Equipment

Editor: Marcel Dröttboom

More than 700 companies from 26 countries are expected to come to Nuremberg, Germany, and exhibit their equipment for all aspects of processing, handling, transport and analysis of powders, granules and bulk solids. Also on the agenda: Partec International Congress on Particle Technology.

Powtech in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 23 to 25 April 2013 is again geared completely to plant and equipment for size reduction, dosing, mixing, screening, conveying and particle analysis of powders, granules and bulk solids. More than 700 exhibitors are expected from 26 countries. But Powtech is not only the exhibition for innovations in the individual process stages. Planners also find solutions here for linking these components to form complete systems. This also makes the exhibition the most important show of automation innovations for the powder, granule and bulk solids processing industry.

There is a growing call for integrating mechanical processes into complete solutions. Plant planners and operators increasingly no longer only demand single equipment components, but expect partial or complete solutions including engineering, installation and commissioning.

The process plant suppliers at Powtech answer this trend by presenting turnkey plants and freely definable interfaces for linking with other process stages to fully automatic interfacing with process control systems.

Plant and Automation Solutions

Planners and operators at Powtech find solutions for linking plant and automation equipment to form complete systems. Powtech offers the whole spectrum of technology for this – from incoming acceptance of powder, granules and bulk solids, intralogistics from pneumatic conveying to lined abrasion-resistant pipes, and varied solutions for the storage of these products in big bags or bulk silos. The portfolio of innovations here includes fittings, flaps or rotary feeders just as much as weighing, filling and packaging systems. Powtech also offers the full spectrum of C&I equipment for field use – from flow and level indication equipment to humidity measurement and online particle analysis.

This international exhibition is also the most important show of automation innovations for the powder, granule and bulk solids processing industry. Here plant operators and engineers obtain a complete overview of process control systems and future-compatible software solutions. These enable the implementation of functions such as recording all material flows, continuous traceability or standard interfacing of various production locations to an ERP system.

Powtech offers the entire spectrum of automation from recipe-controlled process control systems and process-orientated material management to ERP interfaces. More than 50 exhibitors, including technology leaders like Proleit and CT Datentechnik, show modern process control solutions for large bakeries as well as for the building material industry, ceramic industry or fine chemicals.

Explosion Protection with Focus on Dust Explosions

Powtech not only offers plant planners equipment hardware and automation software, but rounds off its range of innovations with explosion protection – especially with a view to the risk of dust explosions. More than 30 exhibitors, including market leaders like Rembe, BS&B Safety Systems and GreCon, show new developments and improvements from spark and fire detection, alarm control and extinguishing systems and bursting discs to flame arrestors and inerting systems.

The “Safety” segment at Powtech is supplemented with a broad-based spectrum of products from around 80 other exhibitors who show solutions for emission protection, industrial safety and plant cleaning. The programme is rounded off with the Index Safety Congress from 24 to 25 April 2013, guided tours of the exhibition, presentations on explosion protection and live explosions in the park.

Ready for a Broader View?

Powtech visitors are certainly advised to visit the other events taking place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg at the same time: TechnoPharm, the International Trade Fair for Life Science Process Technologies in the pharma, food and cosmetics industry, and Partec, the International Congress on Particle Technology, provide an extensive one-stop event on handling powders and bulk solids.
