Longview/USA (fel) – Eastman Chemical has experienced a power outage resulting in a shutdown at its Longview/USA site. During restart operations, an unexpected equipment breakage connected to one of the two operating cracking units at the site delayed start up and was interrupting production of certain products and intermediates. Based on the current timeline for restarting, the impact of the outage on first-quarter 2010 earnings per share is expected to be between $ 0.20 and 0.25. Since march the two cracking units have been online again.
