With a new concept for the next annual Powder & Bulk Solids exhibition/conference at Ahmedabad, India, the organizer try to expand the events scope for new target audiences.
Ahmedabad, Gujarat/India – The German publisher Vogel Business Media and NürnbergMesse are organizing an exhibition with accompanying conference for the powder and bulk solids processing industries in India for the third time. The two partners have made a number of adjustments before the next event, which is now presented with an amended name, a new date and at a different location. The Powder & Bulk Solids India, Exhibition & Conference, takes place in Ahmedabad from March 13th to 15th 2012.
How did this development of the event concept come about and what are the distinguishing features of the new Powder & Bulk Solids India? The responsible management, Gerd Kielburger, Editorial Director Process and BulkSolidsHandling (among others) of Vogel Business Media, and Petra Wolf, Member of the Management Board / Executive Director International Operations of NürnbergMesse, answer these questions below.
PROCESS: The previous Bulk Solids India has a new concept for 2012. Ms Wolf, how did the decision to make these changes come about?
Petra Wolf: The first two events in India went well for everyone concerned and we were able to gather much experience in the process. For the new concept of the third edition, we have incorporated expert opinions and have responded more intensively to the wishes of our customers. Our goal must still be to reflect the Indian market, for which it is necessary to attract local suppliers. Now that our analyses have shown that after two events in Mumbai – in the Indian state of Maharashtra – we have largely exhausted the visitor target groups there, we would like to develop new target groups in the state of Gujarat. Another advantage of the new venue in Ahmedabad is the marked concentration of industries like pharmaceuticals, textiles, chemicals, mechanical engineering, ceramics, etc., from which we hope to extend our visitor and exhibitor target groups.
PROCESS: Mr Kielburger, what makes the new event concept equally attractive for visitors and exhibitors?
Gerd Kielburger: Especially for combined events like Powder & Bulk Solids India, I think the focus is on the effective training concept. Linking the exhibition and conference gives the participants a unique added value. On only three days, they can expand their knowledge, gather information and obtain an overview. For next year’s event there will also be a number of changes affecting the conference. For example, we have planned to offer fewer but more specific lectures, which will also continue to span the spectrum from science to practical application. And we will, of course, also focus on bulk AND powder at the conference. We will achieve this by offering two conferences – one on “From Port to Plant – Challenges in Power Generation”, the other on “Powder & Granules in Chemicals and Plastics Production – Innovative Approaches for Optimal Results”. The visitors can also obtain in-depth knowledge at eight certified workshops. Highly qualified training combined with sufficient time to update on innovations at the exhibition and engage in networking – this is the new concept.
