Polyurethane Industry Poly-Urethan Joint– Venture Between Perstorp and PTT of Thailand

Specialty chemicals company Perstorp has joined forces with Thailand’s largest chemical producer PTT Global Chemical for the manufacturing and sales of products for the poly–urethane industry. A strategic joint venture (of which PTT Global Chemical holds 51% and Perstorp 49%) has been brought underway with the transactional closing.

Bangkok/Thailand; Stockholm/Sweden – This step follows an agreement between Perstorp and PTT Global Chemical from May 31st, 2012. The joint venture, dedicated to the manufacturing and sales of aromatic (TDI) and aliphatic (IPDI, HDI & derivates) isocyanates, includes the former Perstorp Business Group “Coating Additives” with its manufacturing sites at Pont-de-Claix in France and Freeport in the USA.

The new joint company, named Vencorex will rely on Perstorps existing sales network at locations where no local Vecncorex sales staff is available, the company stated.

Already in 2011, Perstorp and PTT announced plans for a joint venture to serve the growing demand for isocyanates..
