Severe Weather in the USA OQ Chemicals Declares Force Majeure

The severe and unusual storms in the USA have already forced numerous companies to shut down their plants. The chemical company OQ Chemicals has now also had to declare Force Majeure.

Houston/USA — Due to severe weather affecting the Texas Gulf Coast and its terminals, inland waterways and shipping facilities, as well as plant operations, OQ Chemicals is forced to temporarily shut down its facilities in Bay City, USA.

As a result of the plant shutdown, the chemical company is declaring force majeure until further notice and suspending performance of its oxo-alcohols, aldehydes, acids and esters supply obligations.

Fred Gaytan, vice president of OQ Chemicals Corporation, commented, “OQ Chemicals is closely monitoring the events surrounding this Force Majeure event. We are working diligently to resume production as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience. Our sales representatives will provide ongoing updates to our customers on the situation, especially when we resume production at our Bay City, Texas, facility.”
