Underground Gas Reservoirs New Underground Gas Reservoirs in Austria
German engineering for new Austrian underground gas reservoirs: Rohöl-Aufsuchungs Aktiengesellschaft has ordered two new underground storages in Northern Austria from Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz.
Chemnitz/Germany; Vienna Austria – Austrian Rohöl-Aufsuchungs Aktiengesellschaft Wien (RAG) has selected Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz (CAC) for the planning and realisation of two underground gas storage reservoirs near Salzburg, Austria. Together these additional reservoirs will be able to hold up to 685 million m3 working gas.
CAC's will supply part of the authority engineering, basic and detail engineering, procurement of all services and supplies on behalf of the client as well as construction supervision and commissioning. Underground gas storages are used to balance constant gas supplies to against a fluctuating consumption, but also to hold safeguards and reserves for supply shortage's. The area around Salzburg/Austria has several underground gas reservoirs that supply customers in Austria and Germany with Russian natural gas.
