Pinch Valve New Sanitary Valves
Emerson introduces the new Baumann 85000 sanitary pinch valve for low flow rates in sterile processes.
The compact unit consists of three major components: a tube shell body with 19mm (¾”) pharmaceutical grade tubing; a linear spring-and-diaphragm actuator; and a Fisher Fieldvue digital valve controller. With it's digital controller the valve can be used with valve diagnostics to monitor the operating status, providing immediate feedback to a plant host system about necessary maintenance measures.
With the PlantWeb digital plant architecture or other process control systems, the 85000 facilitates per-batch and overall process record keeping.
The design of the valve allows easy handling and replacement, Emerson claims. The valve plunger does not contact the process fluid and gives a shutoff rating equal to ASME/FCI 70-2, Class VI. According to company officials, the epoxy-coated actuator with its stainless steel fasteners offers good corrosion resistance.
