Propylene Oxide Production Using the HPPO Method
New Process for PO Production with no Co-Products
HPPO is the first commercial method for co-product free manufacturing of propylene oxide with hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant. One problem in manufacturing propylene oxide by legacy techniques is the occurrence of co-products which are expensive to treat. HPPO is an innovation in this field and stands for "Hydrogen Peroxide Propylene Oxide". The manufacturing of propylene oxide uses hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant here; besides water no significant quanity of any co-product occurs. Details of the method are explained in this movie based on a reference project in Seoul, Korea.
