Billion Dollar Petrochemical Project in Vietnam Natural Gas Processing Site as Part of Petro Vietnams Mega-Invest
Vietnam’s public oil and gas corporation Petro Vietnamen plans a new gas processing site in the south of the country, according to news reports by industry media experts Downstreamtoday.
Danang/Vietnam – The plant shall process around 10 billion cubic meters of LNG from the Ca Voi Xanh offshore gas fields (100 km off the Vietnamese coast) from 2017 on. The projects is part of a US $ 3.8 billion megainvest that also includes two 700MW powerplants in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.
Decission fort he project fell after a visit of Petro Vietnam’s CEO Nguyen Xuan Son in the USA, where he met with representatives of Exxon Mobil, who operate the ‘Blue Whale’ offshore gas rigs at Ca Voi Xanh.
