New Dehli/India – Centre’s decision on scrapping five per cent import duty on naphtha will help the importers. It will boost the import of the hydrocarbon, analysts say. In India, the versatile solvent finds wide application in hydrocarbon cracking in refineries.

For example, Haldia Petrochemicals uses naphtha as one of their main raw materials. Based on this step, the company has a potential to save around Rupees 3500 millions annually.
