Dr. Thomas Scheuring, Dechema, noted that while it is too early to quote numbers of visitors this year, the halls are crowded and soft indicators suggest that there may even be a slight increase in the number of visitors as compared to Achema 2012. Jürgen Nowicki, Chairman Achema Committee shared the optimism that full expectations for the event will be met. The congress sessions are drawing much attention.

Dr. Andreas Förster, Head of Research Management and Conferences for Dechema commented that the focal topics of Industrial Water Management and the Biobased World have been very successful. Tuesday’s panel discussion on shale gas was very fruitful, and expectations were that Wednesday’s session on energy would be as well. Looking ahead, future focal topics might include digitalization or security and safety.
