Pajaritos/Mexico – Donwstream Today cites Mexicham, however, that the company is not sure it intends to rebuilt the plant, unless ethane supply from its joint-venture partner Pemex impoved. Due to these reasons, the vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plant that was hit earlier this year by a blast that killed 32 and cost the company an estimated $ 286 million may not be rebuilt in the same location – or at all.
The same source states that a Pemex press official declined to comment on the company’s ethane supply.
