Air Separation Linde Builds Air Separation Plants in China

German industrial gases company Linde will build two air separators for Yantai Wanhua – a corresponding contract with the Chinese producer of MDIs was signed on July 26th.

Munich/Germany – Gas specialists Linde will build and operate two large scale air separation plants in Shandong, East China. The two 55,000 m3 oxygen per hour units will be supplying facilities of Chinese Yantai Wanhua with oxygen and nitrogen. The contract includes investment sums of about EUR 130 millions.

"This order is a further confirmation of our successful expansion in a region of dynamic growth," Sanjiv Lamba, member of Linde's Executive Board responsible for the Asian business, said. "This project will enable us to strengthen our position as the leading gases and engineering company in China." Production begin at Shandong is expected for late 2013 / spring 2014. To supply other customers in the area, Linde will be constructing a 20–kilometer pipeline in the Yantai Economic and Technology Park.
