KBR has secured a feasibility study contract by PKN Orlen to assess plastics recycling projects in Central Europe by making use of KBR's Hydro-PRT technology. Both the companies have also signed a Letter of Intent in order to work together for future projects.
KBR has plans to acquire Frazer-Nash Consultancy, a leading provider of systems engineering, assurance and technology advisory services, from Babcock International Group. The move is in line with KBR’s goal of delivering innovative, digitally-enabled solutions to governments and customers across the globe.
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) has plans to develop its first HydroPRS (Hydrothermal Plastic Recycling Solution) project in Japan. The plastics recycling unit will be situated at MCC’s Ibaraki Plant and is expected to process 20,000 tons of plastic waste annually.
Under an alliance agreement signed between KBR and Petron Scientech Inc. (PSI), KBR will be the exclusive licensor for PSI’s Ethylene Oxide / Ethylene Glycol, Alcohol Dehydration and Maleic Anhydride technologies, which are used to convert ethanol into ethylene.
PKN Orlen has selected KBR’s Rose and Maxofin technology for its Solvent Deasphalting and Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking units respectively which is a part of its Bottom-of-the-Barrel project at the Plock Refinery in Poland.
KBR has secured the technology contract from the Haifa Group for two of its process plants at Mishor Rotem in Israel. KBR will provide license, basic engineering design and proprietary equipment for both the plants.
Raízen Argentina has awarded a contract to KBR for modernizing its Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) unit at its Buenos Aires Refinery in Argentina. Under the deal, KBR will provide a basic engineering package for the FCC New Configuration Project.
The Iowa Fertilizer Company has selected KBR to provide Insite monitoring and advisory services for its Wever plant in Iowa, USA. These services will enable the company to monitor plant operations and suggest measures to prevent downtime.

Under the terms of the contract, KBR will provide engineering, advisory and evaluation services for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) various biofuel and biorefinery projects, thus advancing NREL’s renewable energy research and development.
