EPCM Jacobs Provides Engineering for Superabsorbents Project in Belgium

Pasadena, California/USA – The whole scale of the contract between both companies includes the EPCM for both the expansion of the superabsorbent polymer plant and a new acrylic acid plant at the Nippon Shokubai Europe site in Zwijndrecht (Antwerp), Belgium.
The total investment cost (TIC) of the installation is approximately US $ 390 million (E 350 million ). The project is scheduled to be mechanically complete in October 2017.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Mark Bello stated, “Jacobs has been working closely together with Nippon Shokubai during the definition phase, and are committed to continue our successful cooperation during the full duration of this important and challenging project and beyond."
