Mumbai/India – The Indian Chemical Council (ICC) had recently organized ‘The Seventh Annual India Chemical Industry Outlook Conference’ in co-operation with North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC). The event focusing on the theme ‘India in the Global Chemical Industry’ was supported by Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India while Frost & Sullivan was a knowledge partner.

The industry veterans such as Chairman & Managing Director and Sub-Regional Head, South Asia, BASF India, Dr Raman Ramachandran; Associate Director & Head – Chemicals (Middle East, North Africa & South Asia), Frost & Sullivan, Vishnu Sankaran; Jt Managing Director, Solaris Chemtech Industries, Dr S Hariharan; President, CEO & Chairman, Dow Chemical International, Vipul Shah shared their thoughts at the conference.

Director, Tata Sons, R Gopalakrishnan while delivering the keynote address said, “The industry should strengthen innovation with focus on consumer benefits and sustainable development to address problems of society in the 21st century.” He also highlighted the key role played by the chemical industry in ‘creating human happiness’. The organizers also presented ICC Aditya Birla Award for Best Responsible Care Committed Award to BASF India during the event.
