Explosion Protection for Insurers Index Informed Insurers About Latest Trends Regarding Industrial Explosion Protection
Explosion protection experts of the international network Index had organized an event at Rembe in Brilon to inform insurance companies about new developments and the latest trends and philosophies regarding industrial explosion protection.
Members of Index, the Intercontinental Association of Experts for Industrial Explosion Protection e.V., invited influential decision makers of key insurers such as HDI-Gerling, R&V, Basler, Allianz, Aachen/ Münchener and AXA to attend an explosion protection seminar at the Rembe headquarters in Brilon on 13th January 2011.
The safety experts informed the participants about new developments and the latest trends and philosophies regarding industrial explosion protection. Johannes Lottermann, safety expert from Rembe, a founding member of Index, excited the audience with his vivid lecture by comparing fire protection disciplines with industrial explosion protection. Insurers attendees enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions and clarify technical points. “I learned many new facts and as a result am able to use this knowledge for the future” says Andreas Benz of HDI-Gerling in Mainz. He adds “The alliance of these qualified companies is an opportunity for the global insurer and the industry.”
The association includes experts from companies such as GreCon, Kidde, DMT, Kersting, DCM and Rembe. “The Index network grows rapidly. In the meantime there are members out of industries like law firms, OEMs, a chair of Methods of Safety Engineering and Incident Research, representatives of press and publishing, several manufacturers of safety equipment and consultants” indicated Stefan Penno, president of the association Index.
With international events Index wants to raise the publics´ awareness for the protection against dust and gas explosions: Experts travel around the world giving technical seminars to grateful audiences and have conducted symposia in Nuremburg, Shanghai, Glasgow and Mumbai throughout 2010. This year the Index Safety Congress 2011 will take place in Nuremberg. Furthermore it is planned to start symposia in Europe and overseas.
