Improve Quality & Energy Efficiency while Reducing Downtime

How to Treat Technical Salts with the Highest Efficiency

Whitepaper Cover: Andritz AG

This paper will show by means of the example of a pusher centrifuge how to achieve optimum product quality, maximum energy efficiency and operation with a minimum of downtime and it describes the most important innovations of the past decade.

The production of technical salts (e.g. sodium chloride, potassium nitrate or ammonium sulfate) is a complex matter, especially when strict quality attributes and efficiency are required. And mechanical dewatering is an important step in this process and usually performed by centrifugation.

This paper will show by means of the example of a continuously operating pusher centrifuge how to achieve optimum product quality, maximum energy efficiency and operation with a minimum of downtime by adapting the centrifuge specifically to the needs of the market. In particular, the paper will also describe the most important innovations of the past decade. One of them, for example, doubles the liquid capacity of the machine and thus enabling significantly more flexibility in use and another one, launched in 2019, helps to reduce the power consumption substantially. Among others, innovations like these make this new generation of pusher centrifuges one of the most efficient machines on the market today for treatment of technical salts.
