Prodima has completely redesigned its MJ series of low-cost batch mixers and re-launched them as the PM series, with full GMP compliance. The new mixers use the same operating principle as their predecessors, giving high mixture quality in a short batch time with gentle product handling, the company says. At the base of the inclined mixing hopper is a screw which carries product to the top end of the mixer. Mixing takes place as material traveling upwards via the screw meets material moving down the hopper under the influence of gravity. The hopper angle can be adjusted to suit different products, and the mixer works well across a range of batch sizes from 10 percent to 95 percent of the nominal volume. Options include a cutter for de-lumping, liquid injection nozzles, CIP, as well as weighing systems for automatic feeding and discharge. Prodima also continues to supply its MP-HLR pharmaceutical mixer.
